Black and white photo of a building with many windows and the words Elmington Estate written in green over the image

As you walk through the Elmington Estate, you will find little pockets of animation where there used to be none.  In collaboration with Southwark Nature Action Volunteers, the North Camberwell Wildlife Corridor has been created running along the main roads through the estate, linking Burgess Park to Brunswick Park.  We have also established a number of gardens within the residential areas of the estate.  Below you will find a map of the entirety of the Elmington Estate.
Map of the Elmington Estate

Caspian Street

Starting at the entrance to our estate from Burgess Park, on the corner of New Church Road and Caspian Street.  You will find thriving lavender and various colourful flowers adding vibrancy to a once dull corner.  Also, offsetting the constant traffic pollution from the busy New Church Road.

Draycott Close

Around the new children's play area including a large sandpit you will find wild flowers, plum trees and strawberries.

Shirley House

At Shirley House, we have created raised beds including blackberries and raspberries.  There is also a fig tree!  Residents of the Camberwell Lodge Nursing Home help to care for this area.

Picton Street

Along Picton Street, you will find beds with a mixture of wild flowers, fruit and veg including - blackcurrants; redcurrants; broccoli; squash and giant sunflowers.  The pupils of Brunswick Park Primary School help maintain this area.

Owgan Close

A flower bed has been created outside the Mid-Elmington TRA hall.  It was a whole community effort over Easter weekend 2023.
